What is the Holy Quran

By Magdy Abdalshafy

The Holy Quran is a compilation of the verbal revelations given to the Holy Prophet Muhammad over a period of twenty two years. The Holy Quran is the Holy Book or the Scriptures of the Muslims. It lays down for them the law and commandments, codes for their social and moral behavior, and contains a comprehensive religious philosophy. The language of the Quran is Arabic.

The Open Challenge of the Holy Quran
Why is the Qur’an a Miracle? The Quran is linguistically miraculous because it falls beyond the productive capacity of the nature of the Arabic language. The Arabs, who were known to have been Arabic linguists par excellence, failed to successfully challenge the Qur’an. Forster Fitzgerald Arbuthnot, who was a notable British Orientalist and translator, states: “…and that though several attempts have been made to produce a work equal to it as far as elegant writings concerned, none has as yet succeeded.”

The linguistic Miracles The holy Quran is revealed into completely unfamiliar genre of literature, It is not like any kind of any literary works, the source of its beauty is mysterious. This view is supported by the Arabic classical scholars and western writers such as Arthur J. Arberry,Professor Bruce Lawrence and D.J. Stewart.Al literary forms can be categorized as either prose or poetry. According to Muslim and Non-Muslim scholarship, however, the Qur’an cannot be described as any one ofthese known forms of Arabic speech

The Subject matter of the Holy Quran The Holy Quran embodies precepts of belief and conduct, moral directives, legal prescriptions, exhortation and admonition, censure and condemnation of evildoers, warnings to deniers of the Truth, good tidings and words of consolation and good cheer to those who have suffered for the sake of God, arguments and corroborative evidence in support of its basic message, allusions to anecdotes from the past and to signs of God visible in the universe.

The authenticity of Holy Quran The Holy Quran is the sole Holy Book that remained as it was revealed to prophet Muhammad; every word, every letter and every sentence is still as it was in the time of the Prophet. Unlike any other Holy Book, the Holy Quran was written down in the time of Prophet Muhammad. Most of Prophet Muhammad’s companions, tens of thousands, learned the Qur’an by heart, repeatedly recited in front of the prophet for his approval or the approval of other Sahaba Muhammad approved and also compiled it in written form while he was alive. It was compiled into one book by the second Caliph,Abu-Bakr. Usman, the fourth caliph unified all the dialect that people followed into one dialect

Evidence to its divine source The Holy Quran provides evidences to its divine source that fits the culture of every age without any error. In addition to its unique literary styles, there are prophecies that were fulfilled in the time of the Prophet. There are prophecies that were fulfilled later and even now there are prophecies that we see them being fulfilled. The Holy Quran contains tens of scientific statements that are supported by our modern science, thus not only the Holy Quran provides evidences to its divine source but even undermine the basics of atheism. Also the Holy Quran contains historical facts that modern excavation aided with satellites pictures support, these facts were not known to any generations.

The importance of the Holy Quran in our daily life The importance of the Holy Quran in our daily life Muslims must recite the Holy Quran in their prayers, they should open their prayer by the opening chapter and then you can read from any Sura. Non-Arabic speaker should read the opening chapter in Arabic. Nine great benefits of reciting the Quran1 - Reading and reflecting over the Qur’an fulfils an Islamic duty.2 - The Qur’an will be a proof for us on the Day of Judgment.3 - The Qur’an will intercede for us on the Day of Judgment.

Your status in this life will be raised.5 - You will be from the best of the people.6 - There are ten rewards for each letter you recite from the Qur’an.7 - The reciters of the Qur’an will be in the company of the nobleand obedient angels.8 - Your position in Paradise is determined by the amount of Qur’an you memorize in this life!9 - The Qur’an will lead you to Paradise!

Quran punches holes in Atheism: Who is God?

Professor Salama Abdelhady
Professor of Energy Systems, College of Energy Engineering
Aswan University

This hard question is answered simply and perfectly in Quran by a sentence of seven Arabic words. Such sentence is stated in Quran as a Moses' reply to the Pharos of Egypt when he asked Moses: Who is your God?
The answer, as dedicated in Quran, was:
020.049-050
YUSUFALI: (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its created form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance."
PICKTHAL: (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? : He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright.
SHAKIR: (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal
According to this verse, God is the Creator Who gave every thing its creation; that means its nature, features, specifications and parameters. Then, He is the Guider Who led and integrated all these created elements to fulfill specific functions and jobs in a unique system or order that guides us mercifully to believe in His Uniqueness and Greatness. It states that God, as the Creator of the universe, cannot be defined by any materialistic definition that can be imagined by our materialistic visions. But He defines himself in terms of scientific signs that are seen in His created and guided universe that cannot be created and guided by no ONE But Him. Such miraculous and perfect definition answers all the questions that can be asked in such perfectly created and uniquely managed universe.
So, the answer summarizes God’s scientific signs in the universe that define Him as He himself is beyond our abilities to imagine. Of course, He grasps all of our visions as He created such visions and universe but we cannot grasp Him by our limited vision. Such meanings are stated according to the following verse:
006.103
YUSUFALI: No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with  all things.

PICKTHAL: Vision comprehendeth Him not, but He comprehendeth (all) vision. He is the Subtile, the Aware.
SHAKIR: Vision comprehends Him not, and He comprehends (all) vision; and He is the Knower of subtleties, the Aware.
However, the Quran defined also God by His Attributes that are understood by Scientific Signs in His universe and in us [1]. God is also recognized by our souls which are the God’s breath in our human bodies [2]. Such souls know, by themselves, God and lead us also, as humans, to Him as they are originated from Him. Our human souls are granted such abilities of logical and scientific thinking as they are breaths of God [2]. The following verses of Quran assure that our belief in God should start by our granted abilities of scientific thinking:
022.008
YUSUFALI: Yet there is among men such a one as disputes about Allah, without scientific Knowledge, without Guidance, and without a Book of Enlightenment,-
PICKTHAL: And among mankind is he who disputeth concerning Allah without scientific knowledge or guidance or a scripture giving light,
SHAKIR: And among men there is he who disputes about Allah without scientific knowledge and without guidance and without an illuminating book,
031.020
YUSUFALI: Do ye not see that Allah has subjected to your (use) all things in the heavens and on earth, and has made his bounties flow to you in exceeding measure, (both) seen and unseen? Yet there are among men those who dispute about Allah, without knowledge and without guidance, and without a Book to enlighten them!
PICKTHAL: See ye not how Allah hath made serviceable unto you whatsoever is in the skies and whatsoever is in the earth and hath loaded you with His favours both without and within? Yet of mankind is he who disputeth concerning Allah, without knowledge or guidance or a scripture giving light.
SHAKIR: Do you not see that Allah has made what is in the heavens and what is in the earth subservient to you, and made complete to you His favors outwardly and inwardly? And among men is he who disputes in respect of Allah though having no knowledge nor guidance, nor a book giving light.
Examples of the scientific signs of God's Attributes in the universe can be seen in the following verse too:
042.011
YUSUFALI: (He is) the Creator of the heavens and the earth: He has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle: by this means does He multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto Him, and He is the One that hears and sees (all things).

PICKTHAL: The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He hath made for you pairs of yourselves, and of the cattle also pairs, whereby He multiplieth you. Naught is as His likeness; and He is the Hearer, the Seer.
SHAKIR: The Originator of the heavens and the earth; He made mates for you from among yourselves, and mates of the cattle too, multiplying you thereby; nothing like a likeness of Him; and He is the Hearing, the Seeing

God's definition as the One Who gives everything its creations and then he guides all of them leads us to understand many secrets in this universe. Let us look at the modern sciences to investigate the perfectness of this definition and how it explains signs in our universe and in us. It explains how the whole universe is built by similar constructing blocks, the atoms, and why all the living creatures are built by the same building blocks, the cells. Why all creatures uses Oxygen to burn the food in their bodies and produce Carbon dioxide and water vapor as products of burning, It is simply because, according to this definition, all are originated and guided by One Creator who gave every thing its creation and guides them by a Unique fashion.
Looking at our human body; we find Anatomy is the science that explains how God gives every element in such human body specific features to perform a specific function in the complete human system. It is a study of structure and shape of the body parts and how they relate to one another. When we discuss anatomy, we are specifically interested in how something is built or put together to perform an assigned function.  We find Gross Anatomy is a study of large easily observable structures, such as the heart, bones, or skin, and Microscopic Anatomy is a study of very small structures of the body like cells and tissues. However, God’s guidance of every part to perform its function and the jobs of each part is the realm of physiology.  Physiology is a study of how the body and its parts function or work together. In other words; Anatomy is a study of creation of each part in our bodies while Physiology is concerned with how each created element is guided to do and how it does it. As examples is the study of our Nervous System which is made up of Brain, Spinal cord, Nerves and sense organs is a branch of Anatomy that deals with specification assigned by God for every thing.   While the study of guidance of such elements to perform their Functions that integrates information, responds to irritants or stimuli, detects changes and sends messages (impulses) through the body to other systems or elements like muscles and glands is the subject of physiology. Similarly, the study of cardiovascular system which is made up of blood vessels and heart is another branch of Anatomy that deals with specification assigned by God for every these elements while the study of its guidance to perform its Functions of transport and distribution of oxygen, hormones, nutrients, and other substances to every cell in the body and removal of waste from such cells is a subject of physiology. So, anatomy and physiology are tied to each other and they are the subject of this verse or Who Gives each elements its feature, as Anatomy, and then guides it to perform specific functions that are necessary for the whole human body to perform its function as physiology. We find miraculously that the structure of each created thing relates to its guided function and vice versa. Structures are determined wisely and scientifically to perform assigned functions to actually take place. The inside of the lungs is an example of this. The sacs inside the lungs are not muscular and therefor can not pump air into them. They are however very thin. It is this thin structure that allows the exchange of gases to take place in the lungs. Who gave these sacs such thin structure and who guides such exchange; He is the God. We find the heart is a pump that is able to pump the blood through the whole body into large and small veins in a journey that is as long as a journey around the whole earth. Then He guides such heart to pulsate about 87 pulses in a minute to supply food and air to every cell in our body to offer it the energy and other required resources necessary for survival of such cells. Then it sends the blood to the lungs to exchange the products of food's burning in our cells and get oxygen for a new cycle. It sends also blood to the intestines to get the required food for the cells. Then the heart sucks the wastes from the cells to get rid of them in another designed journey.

Similarly, God arranged the human structures for reproduction where two kinds of sex cells or gametes are designed to perform this job: Sperm, as the male gamete, and an egg or ovum, as the female gamete. Both must meet in the female reproductive system to create a new individual. So, both the female and male reproductive systems are guided also through physiological procedure for reproduction to occur to keep the human race. Looking at the vision and hearing systems, we find God created such systems and He arranged for us how we can see and hear by them. Then He guided them physiologically to recognize what is seen and heard [3].
Of course no one can assume such Anatomy and Physiology are the inventions or the Will of a non-minded nature. But the answer is included in such miraculous definition of God. He is Who gives every thing its creation of accurate specifications and features, Science of Anatomy, and then He guides these creatures to perform their functions, science of Physiology.
Similarly, the study of Astronomy deals with the study of the heavens in an effort to understand the underlying principles governing the guidance or behavior of the planets (including the earth), stars (as our sun) and galaxies and the Universe in general. Of course God gave the sun its feature as a burning star that emits energy to its planets and He created the earth as one of the sun's planets with certain features. But He guides such star and such planet to act by specific accurate rates and in specific neat orbits to accommodate the life on the earth [4].

Similarly, God also gave the seeds of the plants its features and guided them to prepare the food and energy for the life of humans and animals [5]. In the same way, God gave the seas and oceans its capacities to store the salt water and guides the sun and the wind to motivate such stores to send clouds of supplying us by such flowing rivers of fresh water [6].  No one can find a definition for the guidance of these creatures without the belief in God who gave every thing its creation and guides them to follow his order in Unique system that supply the animals, including the humans, with the food and energy from plants and supply them water from seas as expressed by such miraculous definition.
Similarly, God gave the bees its features and characteristics and guides them to build their nests and prepare food for the human [7].  He gave birds also its features and then guides them to fly [8]. Bird migration cannot be understood without the belief in God's guidance to these birds to cover regularly these journeys of thousands of kilometers. It is generally found as a north-and-south movement, with the lanes of heavier concentration following the coasts, mountain ranges and principal river valleys. In general, it may be said that the great routes of migration do conform very closely to major topographical features when these happen to lie in the general direction of the travel to be performed. Such migration routes may be defined also as lanes of individual travel from any particular breeding ground to the winter quarters of the birds that use them. There are four North American flyways that have been named the Atlantic, the Mississippi, the Central and the Pacific Flyways. No one can find a definition for these routes without the belief in God who gave every thing its creation and guides them to follow his order.
Similarly, God gave the fishes their features and guide them how to swam, breath and live in seas.  The fish are guided also into immigration patterns or the essential fish habitats which defines those waters and substrates necessary to fish for spawning, breeding, feeding or growth to maturity. Such concept is increasingly used in fisheries management plans in different countries, aiming to identify geographic sites that are particularly important for the maintenance of vigorous fish populations. As most fish species use different habitat types for different parts of their life cycle, the description of essential habitats for one species should include all habitat types that are critical for a species to complete its life cycle. No one can find a definition for these migration patterns without the belief in God who gave every thing its creation and guides them to follow these cycles in specific orders.
As the birds and fishes have specific migration patterns, we find also some animals are following different migration cycles or patterns. The movement of migratory animals usually corresponds with seasonal changes. Many animals migrate to northern regions during summer months. The long summer days in the northernmost portions of the world ensure a good food supply. As fall and colder weather approaches, many animals migrate south to find warm winter weather and available food. Some animals migrate annually with an outward and a homeward journey made in a single year. Some animals' patterns of migration are linked to weather patterns---their movements are dependent on rainfall and the availability of green vegetation. A few animals take several years to complete their migratory cycles. Who arranged for those animals such patterns? The only scientific answer is the God's Quranic definition: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright.

God gave the animals its features and guided them how to communicate too. Natural animal communication can include chemical signals (used by some very simple creatures, including protozoa), smell (related to chemical signals, eg. pheromones attract, skunk secretions repel), touch, movement, posture (e.g. dogs, geese), facial gestures (e.g. dogs snarling), visual signals (eg. feathers) and sound (e.g. very many vertebrate and invertebrate calls). Such signals are evolved to attract (especially mates), repel (especially competitors or enemies), signal aggression or submission, advertise species, warn of predators, and communicate about the environment or the availability of food. Of course, such common languages of communication cannot be understood without belief in One God "Allah" Who gave unto everything its nature, then He guided it aright".
So, a proper understanding of such definition of God requires an understanding of science as Anatomy, Physiology, Astronomy, Biology, etc. However, it is not the purpose of the Qur’an to explain science to us but it encourages persons to reflect on the scientific signs in them and the universe around them so that they may realize the greatness of Almighty God. We cannot understand So, it is necessary to state that the offered article deals with examples of the meaning of such perfect definition of God as found in Quran. Of course, we cannot explain all of God's wisdom in such definition. But I think I do my best to get close to the perfectness of such simple and miraculous definition of God as stated in the Holy Quran. Such definition is surely stated by the God Who knows how to define Himself to assure the following verse:
017.088
YUSUFALI: Say: "If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support.
PICKTHAL: Say: Verily, though mankind and the jinn should assemble to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof though they were helpers one of another.
SHAKIR: Say: If men and jinn should combine together to bring the like of this Quran, they could not bring the like of it, though some of them were aiders of others.

The Witnesses of the Early Jews to the Prophethood of Muhammad

The Holy Book contains many prophecies about the prophet Muhammad; the Testament of Moses, a book which is not considered canonical, determines his birth year. Psalm" 84" determines the place of the Muslims Hajj, the Book of Deuteronomy (3:23) determines the place on which the first revelation of the Holy Quran would shine.

Isaiah (21:13) determines the place to which he would migrate; it even refers to one of the important military confrontation between the expected prophet and his enemies. For all of these reasons the Jews are reported in the Islamic literature to have known the period in which the prophet Muhammad would be born, the place where he would be born, the place to which he would migrate to and many other events in the life of the prophet Muhammad. In this short article, we will choose some of these events that show that they knew the Prophet Muhammad.

God says in the Holy Quran what means:

Those to whom We gave the Scripture know him as they know their own sons. But indeed, a party of them conceal the truth while they know [it].(2-146)

Bahira, the Monk:

When the Messenger of Allâh was twelve years old, he went with his uncle Abu Talib on a business journey to Syria. When they reached Busra (which was a part of Syria, in the vicinity of Howran under the Roman domain) they met a monk called Bahira (his real name was Georges), who showed great kindness, and entertained them lavishly. He had never been in the habit of receiving or entertaining them before. He readily enough recognized the Prophet and said while taking his hand: "This is the master of all humans. Allâh will send him with a Message which will be a mercy to all beings." Abu Talib asked: "How do you know that?" He replied: "When you appeared from the direction of ‘Aqabah, all stones and trees prostrated themselves, which they never do except for a Prophet. I can recognize him also by the seal of Prophethood which is below his shoulder, like an apple. We have got to learn this from our books." He also asked Abu Talib to send the boy back to Makkah and not to take him to Syria for fear of the Jews. Abu Talib obeyed and sent him back to Makkah with some of his men servants.

The Madinese always heard the Jews say that a Prophet was about to rise, for the time for a new dispensation had arrived. Him they would follow and then smite their enemies as the children of ‘Ad and Iram had been smitten.

Abdullah bin Salam, the most learned rabbi among the Jews came to see the Prophet when he arrived, and asked him certain questions to ascertain his real Prophethood. No sooner did he hear the Prophet’s answers than he embraced Islam, but added that if his people knew of his Islamization they would advance false arguments against me. The Prophet sent for some Jews and asked them about ‘Abdullah bin Salam, they testified to his scholarly aptitude and virtuous standing. Here it was divulged to them that he had embraced Islam and on the spot, they imparted categorically opposite testimonies and described him as the most evil of all evils. In another narration ‘Abdullah bin Salam said, "O Jews! Be Allâh fearing. By Allâh, the only One, you know that he is the Messenger of Allâh sent to people with the Truth." They replied, "You are lying." ... That was the Prophet’s first experience with the Jews.
On the authority of the Mother of believers Safiyah - may Allah be pleased with her - narrated: Safiyah, daughter of Huyayi bin Akhtab said: I was the closest child to my and my uncle Abi Yasir’s heart. Whenever they saw me with a child of theirs, they should pamper me so tenderly to the exclusion of anyone else. However, with the advent of the Messenger of Allâh and setting in Quba’ with Bani ‘Amr bin ‘Awf, my , Huyayi bin Akhtab and my uncle Abu Yasir bin Akhtab went to see him and did not return until sunset when they came back walking lazily and fully dejected. I, as usually, hurried to meet them smiling, but they would not turn to me for the grief that caught them. I heard my uncle Abu Yasir say to Ubai and Huyayi: "Is it really he (i.e. Muhammad)?" The former said: "It is he, I swear by Allâh!" "Did you really recognize him?" they asked. He answered: "Yes, and my heart is burning with enmity towards him"
Salama ibn Slama Albadry

Narrated Salama ibn Salama Albadry "while I was young, there used to be a Jewish neighbor living next door to us. Once he came to the place where our tribesmen used to sit and began to talk to us about resurrection, the Judgment day, reckoning, the measure, hell and paradise. I was the youngest of them at that time. He was talking to idolaters who do never believe that there will be resurrection, so they asked" damn! is that possible that people will be resurrected again and they will either go to hell or paradise and that they will be rewarded according to their deeds?"

"I swear in the name of God, this will happen." He said

"How can we be sure of that you are talking about?" They said.

"A prophet will be sent soon, his locus will be there." Pointing by his finger between Mekka and Yemen." He said

"When can we see him?" They asked

"Looking at me, he said "If this boy became a young man, he will see him." He said

Salam said" Not many years didn't pass until the prophet was sent and this Jew was still alive among us, we believed in him but he didn't out of envy and rancor.|

"We asked him" damn ! Aren't you the one who told us about him?"

"Yes, I did. But he is not a prophet."

In fact, the Jews, though many of them believed in Muhammad, refused to believe because they wanted this prophet to be from them. The Holy Quran commented on such approach of the Jews in the following verse:

And when the Book was sent to them by God verifying what had been revealed to them already even though before it they used to pray for victory over the unbelievers and even though they recognised it when it came to them, they renounced it. The curse of God be on those who deny! (2:89)

Also the Holy Quran comments on the attitude of the Jews in the following verse:

They disbelieved in him though they knew him exactly they recognized their children, The Holy Quran says commenting on their situation saying "The people of the Book know this as they know their own sons; but some of them conceal the truth which they themselves know. (2:146)

Prior to the advent of prophet Mohammed, the Jews emigrated to Madina and Tema because they understood the prophecies in their Holy Book especially those which refer to the locus of the Message and also the place of his determination.

Ibn Isaq,a well-known reliable biographer, says he was told by some of Madina dwellers, known as the supporters, that the reason behind their converting to Islam was that they used to hear from the Jews, we were idolaters and they had a Holy Book, they had knowledge that we did not have, there used to be skirmishes between us, if we defeated them, they would threaten us saying' the advent of a new prophet is approximating and we will kill you the same way the nation of Aad and Aram was killed ( in large numbers), this threats were repeated several times in different occasions. When this prophet was sent, we believed in him when he called us to God but they disbelieved." And for this reason the following verse was revealed:

And when there comes to them a Book from Allah, confirming what is with them,- although from of old they had prayed for victory against those without Faith,- when there comes to them that which they (should) have recognised, they refuse to believe in it but the curse of Allah is on those without Faith. (2:89)

Khatada, one of the early scientists, says they Jews used to pray for victory in the name of Mohammed, and when Moahhamed was sent they disbelieved though the prophet was prophesied in their Holy Book because they thought he would be from among them.

The Rabbi ibn Al-Hayban

Short before the Islamic call dawned on the Arab Peninsula, a versatile pious rabbi by the name Ibn Alhyban came from Sham to the city of Madina, the city to which the prophet was destined to emigrate to; he read in the Holy Book that the city of Madina will be the place to which the prophet would emigrate, so he came to dwell in Madina to be among those who would follow and support.

Ibn Ishaq narrates that the leader of Bani Quriza, a chief tribe at that time, said that a rabbi from Sham came to live among us, his name was ibn Al-Hayban, I have never seen a man who perfect his prayer like him, he came to us two years before the advent of the prophet. When there is draught, we used to go to ask him to pray for rain, he would say' I swear I won't do unless you give some alms before you go, we would ask' how much', he says' a measure of dry dates or barley. So we did what he asked. He would take us to the back of the mountain and there we ask for rain under his leadership, no sooner he left his place than rain fell down superfluously, he did twice or thrice.

When he was dying, we gathered around him, he said" O' Jews, do you know what reason made me leave the land of Sham(Sham), the land of welfare to the land of hunger and hardships( Madina).

They said' you know best."

"I emigrated because I expected a prophet to appear and this is his time to appear, this town is the place where he will emigrate to. Believe in him, let nobody else precede you." He died shortly after his words.

When it was the night on which Bani Quryza, a major Jewish tribe at that time, was defeated, three Jews left their fortresses and called the others" O' Jews, we assure you that he is the prophet whom ibn Al- Hyban told you about."

They said" what are your proofs?"

"We swear he is as was described"

And they all embraced Islam

Inimitable Notions of The Glorious Qur'an to The Creation of The Universe 1) Beginning and Stages

The Universe  is created, not eternal :
Astronomical surveys show that the universe contains spots of extreme density and temperature as the star's core, and others of low density and temperature as the interstellar matter.  This diversity is an evidence that the universe is not eternal but created.  Had it been eternal it would have been equal all over in terms of density and temperature due to thermal and pressure equilibrium.
Another proof is the existence of radioactive materials such as radium and uranium, in spite of their limited half-life time.  Also, the recession of galaxies which was discovered only in the first half of the twentieth century is another proof. This latter evidence also underlines the existence of a beginning of the universal expansion. Scientists maintain that the universe emerged after a "big bang' , a formidable explosion- a hypothesis supported by the discoveries during the 1960s of the cosmic background radiation, the temperature of which amounts to 3 kelvin degrees only.

Theories of the origin and evolution of the universe :
Modern books on cosmology abound with ideas, theories, proposals and researches related to the efforts made to develop a theory explaining the origin and the evolution of the great universe. The most important of these can be summed up in the following points :

  1) Two thousand years ago, Aristotle (384-322 B.C.) held that the earth was a fixed center of the universe round which the moon, the sun, planets, and stars revolve in circular orbits.
2) In the second century A.D., Ptolemy- who lived in Egypt- introduced minor amendments to Aristotle's model but still upheld the earth-centered view of the universe.
3) This belief prevailed in the world until the emergence of Islam.  A few years after the foundations of the Islam State were firmly established, the Muslims began to study several branches of knowledge and founded a great civilization world-wide. They readjusted  the Ptolemic model and introduced a new model in which planets revolve round the sun. This model was borrowed by the Polish scientist Copernicus when he moved to Italy (between 1496 and 1503 A.D.) where he studied Islamic astronomy.
4) In the first half of the twentieth century, Alexander Friedmann applied the general theory of relativity to the universe and created models and solutions that all agree on the point that the cosmos is expanding at present.
5) Hubble could support Friedmann's conclusions by  his (Hubble's) scientific discoveries. His measurements proved that distance between galaxies are increasing steadily at velocities that are directly proportional to distance.
6) Friedmann's models entail three possible kinds or forms of the universe :
a) The "Closed Universe" model: the potential energy is more than kinetic energy, which leads to the suspension of the present expansion of the universe, and afterwards to its contraction.
b) The "Open Universe" model: the kinetic energy is more than the potential energy and the universe continues to expand.
c) The "Steady-State Universe" model: the potential and kinetic energies are equal. Therefore, expansion of the universe decreases gradually, but never reaches a zero point in infinity.
7) The American physicist George Gamow (1868-1904), who comes from a Russian origin, suggested that there was a beginning of the universe between 10 and 20 billion years ago in the form of a 'Big Bang' in the 1960s, the radiation or the glow of the cosmos' beginning was discovered, as Gamow had  predicted in the form of microwaves.
8) In 1970s, Hawking and Penrose proved that the universe must, per necessity, have a beginning, known in mathematics as the point of singularity, where density takes the value of infinity .  Nevertheless, science has not been able to reveal what the first moment of the life of the universe was like. The popular model now assumes that immediately after the emergence of the universe, it was a fireball of an extreme density and temperature. Then the fireball began to expand, while its temperature dropped rapidly forming what is known as "radiation soup".
9) About 100,000 years after the emergence of the universe, matter was separated from radiation. For the first time the universe appeared transparent. When the age of the universe reached about 300,000 years, the hydrogen and helium atoms started to be formed.
10) After about 500 million years, galaxies and their systems were formed in a way that has not be scientifically explained so far, in spite of the variety of the proposed models.

The popular model: an overview :
In the beginning - about 10-20 billion years ago – the universe was a handful of high-density hot photons congested in a very small space. Then the handful burst forth and began to expand. Therefore, its density and temperature began to decrease.

In the early fractions of the first moment, the universe was so hot that the temperature reached millions of billions of degrees. It consisted of a mixture of matter and radiation where photons collided, forming elementary particles such as protons and neutrons. These particles neutralized each other, transforming into energy in about 3 minutes and 46 seconds the temperature dropped to about 900 million degrees. So, protons and neutrons began to intermingle forming simple stable atoms (such as heavy hydrogen). In the following hundreds of thousands of years, the matter of the universe became hot and opaque like the star core. After 700,000 years the temperature dropped to 3000 degrees and electrons and protons were fused, forming stable helium atoms. There were no longer electrons where photons diffused. The universe became permeable to photons. Matter and energy were no longer interfused. Rather, they developed independent of one another.
About one billion years after the 'Big Bang', stars and galaxies began to be formed. Matter inside stars grew again and started to radiate due to the  occurrence of nuclear reactions which formed the heavier elements. These, in turn, were the source which developed later into the heavenly bodies we are now able to see and observe.
The theory of the evolving universe which conceives of the existence of a 'Big Bang' rests on the observation of galactic recession and the background radiation. By measuring the velocity of external galaxies it was found out that the recession velocity increases with longer distances. So, if speeds were measured backwards, i.e. in the reversed direction, galaxies should be heading to converge in 10-20 billion, which is the approximate age of the universe.
The background radiation is the photons that existed in the universe when its temperature was about 3,000 degrees, i.e. it was radiated by a body whose heat was 3,000 degrees. Since then, the universe has been receding, with the result that rays are shifted in the direction of the longer wave-lengths. Now waves are in the radio area. The peak of radiation was shifted suggesting that it came from a body measuring 3 degrees in temperature, rather than earlier measures (the radioactivity came from a body of 3000 degrees before the end of interfusion of matter and these photons 700 thousand years after the 'Big Bang').

The Creation of The Universe in The Qur'an :
With this scientific review of the theories and models of the universe's origin, and evolution, let us take a look at one of the ayat (verses) of the Glorious Qur'an (as meaningfully translated):
" Do not the disbelievers see that the heaven and the earth were joined together , before We clove them asunder? (30)" {Surah Al-Anbiya (The Prophets) XXI}.
The ayah (verse) refutes the arguments of the disbelievers who search for theories and creeds to replace the notion of believing  in one Omnipotent God (Allah) Who created everything and the universe itself.
On the other hand, the Qur'anic ayah states that the heavens and earth were joined together (the Qur'anic term is "Ratq", in the sense of union). Taking into account the evolution of the universe since its birth, we will find the first event was the separation of  matter and radiation when the universe was about 100 thousand years old. At that time, matter was formed of nuclei of hydrogen, helium, and some other elements as well as cluster floating in the 'radiation soup'. In this form of matter during the universe's infancy was the origin of all kinds of materials that exist now in the universe whether on earth, or overhead in the sky.
Radiation, or photons, began to lose temperature gradually  as the universe continues to expand. The decline of the temperature reached a point when radiation filled all the universe. Thus the implication of heavens and earth being in union is that matter and radiation were merged together ("Ratq" in Arabic), as the origin of everything in heavens and earth. The "Fatq" (as mentioned in the Arabic text of the Qur'an) cleavage, it is their separation which came later, matter becoming the earth, the planets, the stars, the galaxies and other astronomical material, and radiation becoming the regions of the sky and the horizon of the whole universe, just as modern science informs us.
This is one interpretation of the Glorious ayah. But there can be another. The universe has undergone other formidable and immense upheavals over its long lifetime. One of the astronomical enigmas is the disparity of the age of the universe according to the Hubble law and measurements on the one hand, and that age calculated according to the constituents of the universe – galactical and stellar systems and other materials. According to Hubble's law and measurements, the age of the open universe is about 11 billion years. But the age of the closed universe is estimated at about 7.4 billion years, whereas its systems are estimated to be 12-18 billion years old. One way to solve this riddle is the hypothesis that the universe was about to collapse around 8-10 billion years ago, but then was re-opened (re-expand). According to Hubble, the age of the universe is estimated since it was re-opened onwards, the time preceding the re-opening being excluded. This explains the discrepancy between this age and the age of the constituents or matter of the universe.
If it really happened that the position energy or the gravity of the universe's matter surpassed the kinetic energy, the universe ought to have contracted and collapsed a long time age, unless the Creator  willed it otherwise and stopped the collapse, affecting a new expansion. Only He  who has started creation can re-create it at His will if it hovers on collapse, death or closure (contraction) under its own gravity. If the universe- with its heavens, earth, stars, and galaxies – had neared collapse or closure, who else other than Allah the Omnipotent Creator could have replaced ("Ratq", union; with "Fatq", cleavage, in the Qur'anic terminology), so that heavens, earth and the whole universe would be re-opened (re-expand) again?
This is a testimony that this discourse (The Qur'an) was revealed by Allah to his messenger Muhammad Ben Abdullah (peace be upon him be upon him). It could not have been contrived by a human being more than fourteen centuries ago or even now…!!

Miracles of Quran ( the mathematical discovery 1)

The Miracles of the Quran will never end. There will never be a time where mankind can fully take in the knowledge that is in this holy book. It is a miracle to all mankind, the word of God. There is no value that one can set to the words of the Creator. It is a treasure of which guides those that want to succeed in this life and the hereafter.____Dr.Tariq Al Swaidan discovered some verses in the Holy Qur'an that mention one thing is equal to another, i.e. men are equal to women. ____Although this makes sense grammatically, the astonishing fact is that the number of times the word man...

60 Questions for the Christian

By Hussein Khalid Al-Hussein

According to most Christians, Jesus was God-incarnate, full man and full God. Can the finite and the infinite be one? "To be full" God means freedom from finite forms and from helplessness, and to be "full man" means the absence of divinity.

1.To be son is to be less than divine and to be divine is to be no one’s son. How could Jesus have the attributes of sonship and divinity altogether?
2.Christians assert that Jesus claimed to be God when they quote him in John 14:9: "He that has seen me has seen the Father". Didn’t Jesus clearly say that people have never seen God, as it says in John 5:37: "And the father himself which Has sent me, has borne witness of me. You have NEITHER HEARD HIS VOICE AT ANY TIME NOR SEEN HIS SHAPE"?
3.Christians say that Jesus was God because he was called Son of God, Son of Man, Messiah, and "savior". Ezekiel was addressed in the Bible as Son of Man. Jesus spoke of "the peace makers" as Sons of God. Any person who followed the Will and Plan of God was called SON OF GOD in the Jewish tradition and in their language (Genesis 6:2,4; Exodus 4:22; Psalm 2:7; Romans 8:14). "Messiah" which in Hebrew means "God’s anointed" and not "Christ", and "Cyrus" the person is called "Messiah" or "the anointed". As for "savior", in II KINGS 13:5, other individuals were given that title too without being gods. So where is the proof in these terms that Jesus was God when the word son is not exclusively used for him alone?
4.Christians claim that Jesus acknowledged that he and God were one in the sense of nature when he says in John 10:30 "I and my father are one". Later on in John 17:21-23, Jesus refers to his followers and himself and God as one in five places. So why did they give the previous "one" a different meaning from the other five "ones?
5.Is God three-in-one and one in three simultaneously or one at a time?
6.If God is one and three simultaneously, then none of the three could be the complete God. Granting that such was the case, then when Jesus was on earth, he wasn’t a complete God, nor was the "father in Heaven" a whole God. Doesn’t that contradict what Jesus always said about His God and our God in heaven, his Lord and our Lord ? Does that also mean that there was no complete god then, between the claimed crucifixion and the claimed resurrection?
7.If God is one and three at a time, then who was the God in heaven when Jesus was on earth? Wouldn’t this contradict his many references to a God in Heaven that sent him?
8.If God is three and one at the same time, who was the God in Heaven within three days between the claimed crucifixion and the claimed resurrect ion?
9.Christians say that: "The Father(F) is God, the Son(S) is God, and the Holy Ghost(H) is God, but the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Ghost, and the Holy Ghost is not the Father". In simple arithmetic and terms therefore, if F = G, S = G, and H = G, then it follows that F = S = H, while the second part of the statement suggests that F ¹ S ¹ H (meaning, "not equal"). Isn’t that a contradiction to the Christian dogma of Trinity in itself ?
10.If Jesus was God, why did he tell the man who called him "good master" not to call him "good" because accordingly, there is none good but his God in Heaven alone?
11.Why do Christians say that God is three-in-one and one in three when Jesus says in Mark 12:29: "The Lord our God is one Lord" in as many places as yet in the Bible?
12.If belief in the Trinity was such a necessary condition for being a Christian, why didn’t Jesus teach and emphasize it to the Christians during his time? How were those followers of Jesus considered Christians without ever hearing the term Trinity? Had the Trinity been the spinal cord of Christianity, Jesus would have emphasized it on many occasions and would have taught and explained it in detail to the people.
13.Christians claim that Jesus was God as they quote in John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". This is John speaking and not Jesus. Also, the Greek word for the first occurrence of God is HOTHEOS which means "the God" or "God" with a capital "G", while the Greek word for its second occurrence is "TONTHEOS", which means "a god " or "god" with a small "g". Isn’t this dishonesty and inconsistency on the part of those translating the Greek Bible? ? Isn’t such quotation in John 1:1 recognized by every Christian scholar of the Bible to have been written by a Jew named Philo Alexandria way before Jesus and John?
14.Wasn’t the word "god" or "TONTHEOS" also used to refer to others as well as in II Corinthians 4:4 "(and the Devil is) the god of this world" and in Exodus 7:1 "See , I have made thee (Moses ) a god to Pharaoh"?

SALVATION:

Christians say that "GOD LOST His only son to save us". To whom did God lose Jesus if he owns the whole universe?
15. If it was agreeable with God’s Majesty to have sons, He could have created a million sons the like of Jesus. So what is the big clear deal about this only son?
16.Why does the Bible say that Jesus wanted to die on the cross, when the one on the cross was shouting "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" according to Matthew 27:45 and Mark 15:33?
17. If God had wanted to save us, couldn’t He have done that without sacrificing Jesus?
18. God is Just, and justice requires that nobody should be punished for the sins of others, nor should some people be saved by punishing other people. Doesn’t the claim that God sacrificed Jesus to save us because He was Just, contradict the definition of justice?
19. People sacrifice things they have to get something they don’t have when they can’t have both. Christians say that "God SACRIFICED His only son to save us". We know that God is Almighty; to whom did He sacrifice Jesus?
20. A real sacrifice is when you can’t get back what you have offered , so what would be the big deal about such a sacrifice if God could recover the same offering? (according to the Christians’ terminology)?
21. If all the Christians are saved through Jesus and are going to Heaven no matter what they do, then the teachings of Jesus are irrelevant and the definition of good and bad are also rendered irrelevant. If this is not so, then do Christians who believe in Jesus yet do not follow his teachings nor repent go to Hell?
22. How can Christians take deeds as irrelevant after becoming one when Jesus says in Matthew 12:36; "But I say unto you that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment. For by the words thou shalt be justified, and by the words thou shalt be condemned"?
23. Christians say that people go to Heaven ONLY THROUGH JESUS, yet Paul says in 1 CORINTHIANS 7:8-16 that the unbelieving husband is acceptable to God because he is united with his wife and vice versa, and their pagan children are also acceptable to God. So people can go to heaven without believing in Jesus according to this.
24. How come the Bible says that ALL Israel is saved although they don’t believe in Jesus? Doesn’t that contradict the claim in the Bible that the only way to heaven is through Jesus?
25. According to Christians, those who have not been baptized will go to Hell. So even the infants and babies go to Hell if not baptized, since they are born with an inherited original sin. Doesn’t this contradict the definition of justice? Why would God punish people for sins they never committed?

HOLY SPIRIT:

The only place in the Bible where the Paraclete was called the Holy Spirit is in John 14:26 "But the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you". What has the Holy Spirit brought or taught for the last 2000 years?

26.Christians say that the Paraclete means the Holy Spirit (John 14;26). Jesus said in John 16:7-8 "If I do not go away the Paraclete will not come to you". This could not mean the Holy spirit, since the Holy spirit was said to have been there before Jesus was even born as in Luke 1:41 "Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit". Here, the Holy spirit was also present during Jesus life time. So how could this fit with the condition that Jesus must go away so that the Holy spirit will come?
27.In John 16:7-8, it says: "But if go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world of sins and of righteousness and of Judgment". What do "he" and "him" refer here? Don’t they refer to a man?
28.Does the Holy Spirit talk to good Christians and bad Christians as well? Is the Holy spirit with them all the time or just at certain times? When does it start visiting a person who wants to become a Christian?
29.How can you as a Christian tell if the Holy Spirit is inside another Christian? How come many Christians fooled people by claiming that the Holy spirit was inside them only to be converted to another religion later on ?
30.Does the Holy Spirit dictate what Christians should do without choice or freedom at all or does it only guide them and they have the freedom to follow or not ?
31.If the Holy Spirit dictates what Christian should do, why do Christians commit sins and make mistakes ? How can you explain the conversion to other religions and atheism of many Christians? Are they told to do that by the Holy Spirit?
32.If the Holy Spirit guides Christians only, and they are free to do what they want, then how do we know that the writers of the Gospels didn’t make mistakes in writing them?
33.If Christians believe that the Holy Spirit comes and talks to them everyday, why don’t they ask the Holy Spirit about which version of the Bible to follow since there are too many versions floating around?

MISSION OF JESUS:

Without borrowing from other religions and systems, can Christianity provide people with a complete way of life? Since Christianity is limited to spiritual life and does not provide law, how can a society decide which laws are right or wrong?
34.Why do the Christians say that Jesus came with a universal mission when he said that he was sent to the Jews only? He said to the Canaanite woman who asked him to heal her daughter from demon-possession: "I was sent ONLY to the lost sheep of Israel" and also said: "It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs", Matthew 15:21-28.

RESSURECTION:

If you read Matthew (28:1-10), Mark (16:1-20), Luke (24:1-12), and John (20: 1-18), you will find contradicting stories. They all agreed that the tomb was guarded for three days. However, they reported the discovery of the empty tomb differently.
·  Matthew (28) and John (20) reported that Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were the first to discover the tomb.
·  Mark (16) reports that Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome were the first to discover the empty tomb.
·  Mark (28) reports that there was an earthquake that removed the rock from over the tomb. He says that an angel caused it. The other gospels do not mention of an earthquake.
·  Matthew and Mark say that only ONE man in white clothes was sitting on the tomb when the woman arrived, and that he was an angel.
·  Luke says that TWO men in white clothes, who were angels, were sitting. Johns says that the two women did not meet anybody the first time they came to the tomb, but when they returned, they saw TWO people, ONE was an ANGEL, and the other was JESUS.
·  Matthew reports that when the guards reported this to the chief priest, the chief priest paid them a large sum of money, telling them: "You have to say that his disciples came at night and stole his body." He claims that the soldiers took money and spread the story around and since then, the story had been circulating among the Jews until today (according to Matthew). The other gospels do not report of any such thing.
35. Which narration now is more authentic?
36.Why is the appearance of Jesus after the crucifixion taken as a proof of his resurrection when there is an explanation that he was not dead because someone else was crucified in his place when God saved Him?
37.How did Matthew know of the claimed agreement between the soldiers and the chief priest? Can’t someone say that someone paid the women a large sum of money and told them to spread the word around that Jesus rose from the dead, with the same authenticity as that of the story of Matthew?
38.Why did they believe that man in the white clothes? Why did they believe he was an angel? John’s narration is too strange, since he says that Mary did not recognize Jesus (one of the two) while talking to him, and she only recognized him when he called her by her name.
39.How does an empty tomb prove that Jesus was crucified ? Isn’t it that God is capable of removing another man from the tomb, and of resurrecting him too?
40.The Gospels are believed to be the verbatim words of God, they are supposed to be dictated by the Holy Spirit to the Disciples who wrote them. If the source were the same, why shouldn’t they correspond with each other in reporting such an important event?
41.How could Matthew, Mark, Luke and John be considered eyewitnesses of resurrection when the Bible implies that nobody at all saw Jesus coming out of the tomb?

BIBLE:

If the Christians consider the Old Testament as God’s Word, why did they cancel the parts of the Old Testament that dealt with punishment (example: the punishment for adultery)?
42.Why doesn’t Mark 16:9-20 exist in as many versions of the Bible while it exists as a footnote or between brackets in some other versions? Is a footnote in the Bible still considered as God’s word, especially when it addresses an important feature like the Ascension?
43.Why does the Catholic Bible contain 73 books while the Protestant Bible has only 66? With both claiming to have the complete Word of God, which one should be believed and why?
44.Where do those new translations of the Bible keep coming from when the original Bible is not even available ? The Greek manuscripts which are translations themselves are not even similar with each other.
45.How can you take two gospels from writers who never met Jesus, like Mark and Luke?
46.Why is half of the New Testament written by a man who never even met Jesus in his lifetime? PAUL claimed with no proof that he had met Jesus while on his way from Jerusalem to Damascus. PAUL was the main enemy of Christianity. Isn’t that reason enough to question the authenticity of what he wrote? Why do the Christians call those books of the Old Testament "God’s Word" when the revisors of the RSV Bible say that some of the authors are UNKNOWN? They say that the author of SAMUEL is "UNKNOWN" and that of CHRONICLES is "UNKOWN, PROBABLY COLLECTED AND EDITED BY EZRA"!

CONTRADICTIONS:

47.Concerning the controversial issues in the Bible, how can Christians decide by two-thirds majority what is God’s Word and what is not, as the prefaces of some Bibles say like that one of the RSV ?
48.Why does Luke in his gospel report the Ascension on Easter Day, and in the Acts, in which he is recognized as the author, FORTY days later?
49.The genealogy of Jesus is mentioned in Matthew and Luke only. Matthew listed 26 forefathers from Joseph to David while Luke enumerated 41 forefathers. Only Joseph matches with Joseph in those two lists. Not a single other name matches! If these were inspired by God word by word, how could they be different? Some claim that one is for Mary and one is for Joseph, but where does it says Mary in those two Gospels?
50.If Moses wrote the first books of the Old Testament, how could Moses write his own obituary? Moses died in the fifth book at age 120 as mentioned in Deut. 34:5-10.
51.In the King James Version, why does it report SEVEN years of famine in II SAMUEL 24:13 while it reports THREE years of famine in I CHRONICLES 21:12? Why did they change both to THREE years in the New International Version and other versions?
52.Still In the same King James Version, why does it say that Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign in II CHRONICLES 21:12, while it says EIGHTEEN years in II KINGS 24:8? Why did thessey change in both to EIGHTEEN in the new Versions?
53.In all versions, why does it say that David slew the men of SEVEN HUNDRED chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand HORSEMEN as evidenced in II Samuel 10:18 while its says SEVEN THOUSAND men which fought in chariots, and forty thousand FOOTMEN, in I CHRONICLES 19:18?
54.In all versions, why does it report TWO thousand baths in I KINGS 7:26 while II CHRONICLES 4:5 reports THREE THOUSAND?
55.In the King James version, why does it report that Solomon had FOUR THOUSAND stalls for horses in II CHRONICLES 9:25 while it accounts that Solomon had FORTY THOUSAND stalls of horses in 1 KINGS 4:26? Why did they change both to FOUR THOUSAND in the new versions?
56.In GENESIS 1, God’s creation progresses from grass to trees to fowls, whales, cattle and creeping things and finally to man and woman. GENESIS 2, however, puts the creation of man before cattle and fowl and woman subsequent to beast. How can this be explained?

QUR’AN AND CHRISTIANS:

This section does not inquire or interrogate, but rather provides the reader with some of the Qur’anic verses that address the Christians in particular, and the people of the scripture in general. A great portion of the Qur’an pertains to or involves the Christians and the Jews and I decided to just choose verses that are related to the topic of this manuscript.

·  "Lo! The likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, then said unto him: Be, and he was." Al-Qur’an 3:59.

"Say: O People of the Scripture! Come to an agreement between us and you: that we shall worship none but Allah, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for Lords besides Allah. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto him).
"O People of the Scripture! Why will you argue about Abraham, when the Torah and the Gospel were revealed till after him? Have you then no sense?
Abraham was not a Jew, nor yet a Christian; but he was an upright man who had surrendered (to Allah), and he was not of the idolaters.
Lo! Those of mankind who have the best claim to Abraham are those who followed him, and his Prophet and those who believe (with him); and Allah is the Protector of the believers.
A party of the People of the Scripture longs to make you go astray; and they make none to go astray except themselves, but they perceive not.
O People of the Scripture! Why disbelieve you in the revelations of Allah, when you (yourselves) bear witness to their truth?
O People of the Scriptures! Why confound you truth with falsehood and knowingly conceal the Truth? (Al-Qur’an 3: 64-71)

And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him and in the hereafter, He will be one of the losers (Al-Qur’an 3:85).

And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, and Allah’s messenger. They slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them, and Lo! Those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain:
But Allah took him up unto Himself. Allah was ever Mighty, Wise. (Al-Qur’an 4:157-158).

O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter ought concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him, so believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three"! Cease! (it is ) better for you! Allah is only One God. Far is it removed from His transcendent majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as defender.
The Messiah will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah, nor will the favored angels. Whosoever scorns His service and is proud, all such will assemble unto Him.
Then, as for those who believed and did good works, unto them will He give them their wages in full, adding unto them of His bounty; and as for those who were scornful and proud, then He will punish with a painful doom." (Al-Qur’an 4:171-173).

"And with those who say Lo! We are Christians, We made a covenant, but they forgot a part of that whereof they were admonished. Therefore We have stirred up enmity and hatred among them till the Day of Resurrection, when Allah will inform them of their handiwork.
O People of the Scripture! Now has our messenger come unto you, expounding unto you much of that which you used to hide in the Scripture, and forgiving much. Now has come unto light from Allah and plain scripture:
Whereby Allah guides him who seeks His good pleasure unto paths of peace, He brings them out of darkness unto light by His decree, and guides them unto a Straight Path.
They indeed have disbelieved who say: Lo! Allah is the messiah, son of Mary. Say: Who then can do aught against Allah if he had willed to destroy the Messiah son of Mary, and his mother and everyone on earth? Allah’s is the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He creates what he wills. And Allah is able to do all things. (Al-Qur’an 5:14:17).

"They surely disbelieve who say; Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah (himself) said: O children if Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and you Lord. Lo! Whosoever ascribes partners unto Allah, for him Allah has forbidden Paradise. His abode is the Fire. For evildoers ,there will be no helpers.
They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the third of the three; when there is no God save the One God. If they desist not from so saying, a painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve.
Will they not rather turn unto Allah and seek forgiveness of Him? For Allah is oft-forgiving, most merciful.
Say: Serve you in place of Allah that which possesses for you neither hurt nor use? Allah is the Hearer, the Knower.
Say: O People of the Scripture! Stress not in your religion other than the Truth, and follow not the vain desire of folks who erred of old and led many astray, and erred from a plain road." (Al-Qur’an 5:72-77)

"And when Allah says: O Jesus, son of Mary: Did you say unto mankind: take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah?, he says: Be glorified! It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right. If I used to say it, then You Knew it, You know what is in my mind, and I know not what is in Your mind. Lo! You, only You, are the knower of things hidden.
I spoke unto them only that which You commanded me (saying); worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. I witness of them while I dwelt among them, and when You took me, You were the Watcher over them. You are witness over all things.
If You punish them, Lo! They are Your slaves, and if you forgive them (Lo! They are Your slaves). Lo! You, only you are the Mighty, the Wise.
Allah says: This is a day in which their truthfulness profits the truthful, for theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they are secure forever, Allah taking pleasure in them and they in Him. That is the great triumph. (Al-Qur’an 5:116-119)

"And the Jews say: ‘Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah’, and the Christians say: ‘The Messiah is the son of Allah’. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah fights against them. How perverse they are!
They have taken as Lord besides Allah their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah son of Mary, when they were bidden to worship only One God. There is no God save Him. Be He glorified from all that they ascribe as partners (unto him)!
Faint would they put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah disdains (aught) save that He shall perfect His light, however much the disbelievers are averse.
He it is Who has sent His messenger with guidance and the Religion of Truth, to cause it to prevail over all religions, however much the idolaters may be averse.
O you who believe! Lo! many of the (Jewish) rabbis and the (Christian) monks devour the wealth of mankind wantonly and debar (people) from the way of Allah. They who hoard up gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah, unto them give tidings (O Muhammad) of a painful doom.
On the Day when it will (all) be heated in the fire of Hell, and their foreheads and their flanks and their backs will be branded therewith (and it will be said unto them): Here is that which you hoarded for yourselves. Now taste of what you used to hoard." (Al-Qur’an 9:30-35).

MUHAMMAD OR JESUS?

Christians claim that the prophecy in Deut. 18:18 refers to Jesus and not Muhammad. The verse says: "I will raise them up a prophet from among THEIR BRETHREN, LIKE UNTO THEE, and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him." The only reason they resort to such interpretation is that both Moses and Jesus were prophets. Even this one contradicts their claim that Jesus was God and not a Prophet. Many prophets of the Jews had the similarity with Moses. However, if we compare Muhammad to Moses, we will find that:
Muhammad was an Arab, and the Arabs are from Ishmael, son of Abraham, while Moses was a Jew, and the Jews are from Isaac, son of Abraham. Hence, the term THEIR BRETHREN refers to the children of the first son being brethren of the children of the other. This couldn’t apply to Jesus, since he was a Jew.
According to the Christians, Jesus went to Hell for three days while Moses did not. Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses. (In Islam, none of the three Prophets went to Hell)
Moses and Muhammad were born to fathers and mothers while Jesus was born to a mother alone.
Moses and Muhammad got married and had children, while Jesus did not marry at all.
Moses and Muhammad got problems and difficulties from their people initially, but were accepted by them at the end., whereas Jesus was rejected by his people at the start and is still rejected by the Jews until today. "He (Jesus) came unto his own, but his own received him not".( John 1:11)
Moses and Muhammad had power, besides being prophets. They both performed some capital punishments, for example, while Jesus had no power over his people. "My kingdom is not of this world", Jesus said in John 18:36 .
Moses and Muhammad brought new laws while Jesus did not.
Moses was forced to emigrate in adulthood to Median while Muhammad was forced to emigrate at that stage in his life too, towards Madina . Whereas Jesus did not have such forced emigration in his adulthood .
Moses and Muhammad both died of natural deaths after which they were buried ,while the same could not be said of Jesus. He was neither killed nor crucified at all, according to the Qur’an and did not die a ‘natural’ death as could be affirmed by Christians who believe in Crucifixion.

(1)  The Prophet Muhammad is the Paraclete( now purposefully mistranslated as the comforter ) in the New Testament, (John 15:26 RHE). The correct English translation of” the Greek word "Paraclete”, is” the praised one, exactly as the word" Muhammad" means.
(2)  He is also "Shiloh" in Genesis 49:10. The word Shiloh as the well-reputed priest David Benjamin Keldani,  who later became a Muslim, says it refers to the Prophet Muhammad.
He still there by the same name “Muhammad” in the Hebrew text of the Old Testament in the Song of Songs, Chapter 5. The Hebrew text can be transliterated as follows:
dodi we -zeh reI benoth -yerushalayi Hikko mamtaqqim we -khullo Mahamaddim zeh،،
( please watch this video)

In the Hindu book, these are his names:

1- Narashans , a Sanskrit word which means” the praised one in the Atharva Veda.
2- Muhammad in the Bhavishya Puran (Bhavishya Purana in the Prati Sarag, Parv III, Khand 3,Adhay 3, Shloka 5 to 8.).
3- Mahaaamd in the Mahabharat in the Hindu book.
4- Maitreya in the Buddhist Scriptures, the word “Maitreya” means "mercy". The Arabic word for mercy is "rahmat". "Rahmat" is an epithet given to the prophet Muhammad by God in Qur’an! God refers to him as:
"Rahmatan lil Alameen", which means "Mercy unto the worlds" (21:07)

In Persian  Scriptures
the name of the expected prophet is be Astvat-ereta or Soeshyant. Astvat-ereta means "the Praised one", the same meaning of Muhammad in Arabic. Also, Soeshyant means mercy to the worlds, which is an epithet given to the Prophet Muhammad in the Holy Quran.

The prophet Muhammad was born on 12th of Rabi` ul Awwal in the Year of Elephant (Aam` ul-Feel)[corresponding to 570 C.E.]
Prophet Muhammad was born in 570 CE or 571.
His birth time was prophesied in the Testament of Moses in Pseudepigraapha, a holy chapter that once was held as sacred writings and now is considered as a source for understanding the Holy Scriptures.
His birth time is also predicted in the book of Antioch chapter (93 and 94).
His Parent:
His father died before his birth and his mother died six years later. His father’s name was "Abdulla", which literally means "the slave of God." There is a reference to the prophet Muhammad by the names of his father and mother in the Hindu scripture, the name of the father of the prophet "Khali Avatar",i.e, thelast prophet would be VISHNUBHAGAT, whose translation means “the salve of God”, exactly as the Arabic proper name "Abdullah" means.
Prophet Muhammad’s mother’s name was Amina, an Arabic word which means” safety”. According to the Hindu scripture, the mother’s name of the Khali Avatar would be “SUMAANI”, which means” Security”. So there is a strong reference to the expected prophet in the Hindu Holy Book by the name of his father and mother.
Please note that the Khali Avatar, according to the Hindu scripture, is a prophet who would come to guide the Hindus, also note that the Jews also are still waiting for a certain prophet to guide them. This prophet whom all the holy books discussed was Muhammad but each nation; though they don't have any references in their holy book that he would be among themselves, still insists that he would be from among themselves.
His career before being a appointed a prophet by God
A shepherd, merchant and eventually a prophet.
His birth place
Mekka, also Baca or Paran
Prophet Muhammad was born in Baca, the holy city of the Muslims; there is reference to Baca in Psalm: 48 as the place to which the followers of the expected prophet would travel to do pilgrimage.
The Locust of his First Revelation
Prophet Muhammad used to retire from the world in Paran Mountain before he was appointed a prophet; Paran was the ancient name of "alnour mountain", where he received the first revelation.
There is a reference to the place in which  the expected prophet(Muhammad) would receive his first revelation (Deuteronomy 33:2); Both Baca (NIV Bible, Psalms 84:5-6) and Paran (the NIV Bible, Deuteronomy 33:2) are referred to in the Old Testament as the locus of the new message of Prophet Muhammad.
In the Hindu scripture there is a strong reference to Baca as the place in which the kalki Avatar would be born.
Evidence to his prophet-hood

These started as early as his childhood and continued till he died.
among these miracles are  splitting the moon into halves, multiplying food and water, healing the ill, non-animate objects gloried God's name in his hands, water spouted from his hands and many others which outnumbered all the miracles in the Holy Book.
2-     Prophecies
Some of these  came true in his age and the following age and even now, among these which happened in the our modern age  is conquering the space, the moral decadence, the gulf-war, economic blockade on Iraq and Syria, surrogacy, modern means of transportation, the climatic change, the invention of Tv and radio, the mobile phone…etc

His Family: 12 wives, three male children, four daughters
Like all the prophets in the Old Testament, the Prophet Muhammad was polygamous. The reasons why he married nine wives, a general custom at that time, was either to protect widows from the danger of murder by their unbelieving family after their husband’s death or to honour some people (Abu-Bakr and Umar) or to bring more people to Islam or to support the poor among them; they all were widows and old except one, they all played great roles in imparting the wisdom the prophet said when at home.
His enemies
Unlike Jesus who was sent to a nation of believers, Prophet Muhammad appeared among a pagan   nation; he was persecuted and even beaten but he at the end was triumphant over all of his enemies. This torture and persecution was predicted in the Apocalypse of Abraham.

His Death : Twelfth of Rabi’ al-Awwal (June 8, 632 A.D.) at the age of sixty-three
Months after performing the Hajj (Farewell Pilgrimage), Prophet Muhammad fell ill. He continued to lead the congregation prayers. After one of these prayers he invoked special blessings on the martyrs of Uhud, and then addressed the Muslims:
“There is a slave among the slaves of Allah (The One God) to whom God has offered the choice between this world and that which is with Him, and the slave has chosen that which is with God.”
Upon hearing this Abu Bakr (ra) wept as he understood that the Prophet was talking about himself and that the choice meant his imminent death. The Prophet continued:
“I warn you O Muslims to be good to the Ansar (the Helpers, i.e., those residents of Medina who helped the Emigrants from Mecca). They have performed their duty well. Muslims will increase in number but Ansar will dwindle and be as salt in a meal.
“Woe to the nations before you who worshiped the tombs of their prophets. I forbid you to do that. O people, the most unselfish of men to me in his companionship is Abu Bakr, and if I were to take from mankind an inseparable friend he would be Abu Bakr - but the brotherhood of faith is ours until God unite us in His presence. O my dear daughter Fatimah and O my dear aunt Safiyah, spend your efforts in the way of the hereafter for I will not be able to help you against the Will of Allah.
“I go before you and I am your witness. Your meeting with me is at the pool (a lake fed by the celestial river Kawthar where believers will quench their thirst on their entry into paradise.). I fear not for you that you will set up gods beside Allah (The One God); but I fear for you that you will rival one another in worldly gains.”
